Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 5.2% on April 16

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 5.2% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 833,366 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,322 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,342 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 827,936 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 4.94% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 20.2% of total generation, while wind and imported coal plants contributed 15.2% and 13.1%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,749 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,241 megawatt-hours.
