Turkey’s Ilhan eyes Japan move

Besiktas issued a statement on Thursday to the Istanbul Stock Exchange, on which it is listed, that it was in talks with Kobe’s parent company, Crimson Football Club Co. Ltd, on the terms of transferring the 28 year old forward.
Ilhan won overnight stardom in Japan during Turkey’s 2002 World Cup campaign, when he struck a number of spectacular goals in Turkey’s run to third place.
However, since the World Cup, Ilhan has struggled to recover form, suffering a serious knee injury that kept him out of part of last season.
No details of terms or transfer fees have yet been made public.
