So-called Armenian Genocide, is to be debated in US Congress

The bill marks the 15th anniversary of the US implementation of the UN Genocide Convention and calls on the United States to learn from the lessons of past genocides – including the Holocaust, the Armenian, Cambodian and Rwandan genocides – and to prevent the same kind of atrocities in future.

Observers point out that passage of the bill in Congress may cause tension in US-Turkish relations.
