Iraqi Kurdistan’s counterterrorism agency stated that two KKK members were killed in a Turkish drone strike on Monday in the Kurdish town of Ranya.

The counterterrorism statement said that two PKK fighters were also injured in the incident.

According to Kurdish security officials, the drone strike targeted a group of PKK fighters in the town of Ranya, which is located in Iraqi Kurdistan 130 km (80 miles) northeast of the city of Sulaimaniya.

Turkey maintains numerous outposts within Iraqi territory and frequently launches airstrikes against PKK militants in northern Iraq. In 1984, the PKK began using weapons against the Turkish government.
