‘Turks in Anatolia for 4,000 years, not from 1071’
Ozdemir said that the arrival of Alparslan and other Turk conquerors to Anatolia were not simple coincidences. He claimed that they preferred Anatolia because of the existence of their previous tribes.
Adding the claim that the Greeks were invaders aiming to colonize Anatolia, Ozdemir said that all of the tribes living in the Western Aegean and in the bay of Edremit were Turks.
"This geography is ours. It would be seen that the existence of Turks in Anatolia did not begin in 1071 if the historical evaluation is well made. It seems that the victory of 1071 has a background of 4,000 years," said Ozdemir.
Odemir added, "the arrival of Seljukies and later Ottomans were not simple coincidences. They came to this land by following the footsteps of their predecessors."
Ozdemir also said that Ataturk, the founder of the modern Turkish Republic, has made statements in the same direction. "In the days the the Hatay problem, Ataturk said "40-centuries of homeland cannot be left to the enemies."This expression is crucial. Was Ataturk lacking the knowledge of history or was he miscalculating? Never."
