Türkiye’s trade sales volume Increases by 2.5% in April


The Turkish Statistical Institute reported on Monday that the trade sales volume increased by 2.5% in April 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year.

This annual growth includes a notable rise in the retail trade sales volume index by 10.2%.

However, the wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles volume saw a significant decrease of 19.0% year-on-year. In contrast, wholesale trade sales volume experienced a growth of 4.5%.

On a monthly basis, the trade sales volume decreased by 4.6% in April 2024 compared to the previous month. During the same period, the volume for wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles fell by 4.7%, wholesale trade sales volume dropped by 5.7%, and retail trade sales volume decreased by 1.8%.

These figures reflect the fluctuating dynamics within the trade sector, indicating areas of both growth and decline over the specified periods. (ILKHA)
