Turkiye’s employment index up 4.2% YoY, 0.7% QoQ in Q2 2024: Turkstat
This index for the industrial sector increased by 0.6 per cent YoY and 0.3 per cent QoQ, while that for the construction sector increased by 11.1 per cent YoY and 1.7 per cent QoQ.
The hours worked index increased by 0.3 per cent YoY and decreased by 0.2 per cent QoQ in the quarter; this index decreased by 3.4 per cent YoY and 1.5 per cent QoQ for the industrial sector, and increased by 4.8 per cent YoY and decreased by 2.1 per cent QoQ for the construction sector.
Turkiye’s employment index, including industry, construction and trade services sectors, increased by 4.2 per cent YoY and 0.7 per cent quarter on quarter (QoQ) in Q2 2024.
This index for the industrial sector increased by 0.6 per cent YoY and 0.3 per cent QoQ.
The hours worked index rose by 0.3 per cent YoY and decreased by 0.2 per cent QoQ in the quarter.
The gross wages-salaries index increased by 115.4 per cent YoY and 14.3 per cent QoQ in the quarter; this increased by 113.9 per cent YoY and 14.9 per cent QoQ for the industrial sector, and by 126.6 per cent YoY and 7.6 per cent QoQ for the construction sector, an official release from the Turkish Statistical Institute said.
The hourly earnings index increased by 114.7 per cent YoY and 14.5 per cent QoQ in Q2 2024; this increased by 121.6 per cent YoY and 16.7 per cent QoQ for the industrial sector, and by 116.2 per cent YoY and 9.9 per cent QoQ for the construction sector.
