Turkiye’s BIST 100 index up at midweek open
ANKARA
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,498.56 points on Wednesday, rising 8.39 points, or 0.34%, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index ended Tuesday with gains, up 0.99% to 2,490.17 points, with a daily trading volume of 39 billion Turkish liras ($2.58 billion)
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 15.2997 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), from 15.2570 at Tuesday’s close.
The euro/lira exchange rate increased to 16.1584 versus 16.0790, while a British pound traded for 18.8527 liras, down from 18.8870.
The price of Brent crude oil was up 2.25% to around $104.79 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time.
