(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Turkish Airlines declared that the flag carriers of Turkey and Serbia have inked an agreement to extend their commercial collaboration.

The agreement is going to support Turkish Airlines as well as Air Serbia to offer more competitive and affordable flights among the two nations and develop the quality of facilities.

The new memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked throughout the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) yearly conference that took place in Doha, Qatar on June 19-21.

From the begging of July, Air Serbia is going to present further flights on the Belgrade-Istanbul route, whereas Turkish Airlines are going to allocate wide-body aircraft to this route twice a week.

Within the scope of the MOU, both sides are going to discuss to improve current collaboration in terms of codeshare, cargo as well as Frequent Flyer Program (FFP), while developing cooperation alternatives on passenger lounges in their networks.

Opened in 1933, Turkish Airlines have flights to over 340 international passenger and cargo destinations in 129 nations.

Air Serbia has been a frontrunner in flight industry in Southeast Europe since its establishing in 1927.
