Turkey’s stock index opens Thursday with increases


(MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index started at 2,548.64 points on Thursday, increasing by 0.33 percent, or 8.28 points, from the prior end.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was decreased 4.07 percent to end at 2,540.36 points on Wednesday, with a day-to-day exchange capacity of 58.9 billion Turkish liras (USD3.15 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira trading rate increased to 17.1982 at 10.27 AM regional time (0727GMT), from 17.1120 at the midweek’s end.

The euro/lira trading rate rose to 18.4273 from 18.3800, whereas a British pound exchanged for 21.5425 Turkish liras, increasing from 21.5280 at the prior end.

Brent crude oil was exchanged for about USD123.22 a barrel, whereas the price of an ounce of gold was USD1,853.5.
