Turkey’s daily electricity usage drops by 4.7 percent on Oct…


(MENAFN) Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) data released on Monday shows that daily electricity usage in Turkey declined by 4.78 percent on Sunday in comparison to the day before, standing at 682,078 megawatts per hours.

According to TEIAS figures, the nation’s electricity usage decreased to 24,407 megawatts per hours at 8 a.m. regional time after reaching a peak of 32,989 megawatts per hours at 7 p.m. regional time (1600 GMT) (0500 GMT).

On Sunday, 673,509 megawatts per hours of electricity were produced, a reduction of 4.63 percent over the previous day.

Lignite power and hydro power factories contributed by 18 percent and 14.34 percent, correspondingly, to the total generation, whereas imported coal factories comprised by 28.49 percent of it.

Electricity exports and imports for the day totaled 16,267 and 24,835 megawatts per hours, respectively.
