Turkey’s daily electricity usage drops by 0.16 percent on Oc…


(MENAFN) Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) data released on Thursday shows that daily electricity usage in Turkey declined by 0.16 percent on Wednesday in comparison to the day before, standing at 830,954 megawatts per hours.

According to TEIAS figures, the nation’s electricity usage decreased to 28,364 megawatts per hours at 5 a.m. regional time after reaching a peak of 38,865 megawatts per hours at 7 p.m. regional time (1600 GMT) (0200 GMT).

On Wednesday, 807,864 megawatts per hours of electricity were produced, a reduction of 0.25 percent over the previous day.

Natural gas and lignite power factories contributed by 25.7 percent and 13.8 percent, correspondingly, to the total generation, whereas imported coal factories comprised by 29.4 percent of it.

Electricity exports and imports for the day totaled 6,914 and 30,005 megawatts per hours, respectively.
