According to information given by high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ankara sees the possibility of a new UN decision as not very likely and is inclined to send troops to Iraq without waiting for the UN decision.
Meanwhile, the same sources stressed that all the details should be clear beforehand in case of a troop deployment to Iraq. It was also emphasised that Turkish soldiers need to know the limits of their duties and the field conditions.
The same sources also reported an initiation of a new process between Turkey and the U.S. They also noted that answers for questions asked by the Turkish side would be given by a delegation coming from the U.S.
