There are obstacles for extradition of Kaplan

ANKARA (AA) – Germany propounded new conditions for extradation of banned religious leader Metin Kaplan.

Germany’s Interior Minister Otto Schilly said today that European Convention of Human Rights banned extradition of the criminals to countries which had penalty of death and torture claims.

Schily stated that Kaplan’s extradition of Kaplan was an obligation but there were lawful obstacles.

In addition to the government, Unit Party CDU also defended extradition of Kaplan and for this Foreigners Law had to be changed.
