The Arab League welcomed Turkey and Iran

The Arab League welcomed the prospect of non-Arab nations Iran and Turkey joining the organization as observers.

"We welcome Iran’s and Turkey’s requests" to join the Arab League as observers, Secretary General Amr Mussa told reporters at Cairo airport before leaving for the United States.
