Talabani: We May Accept Turkey’s Red Lines

When Turkey’s ”red lines” on Iraqi issue was reminded, Talabani said they did not want an independent state in Iraq, and that they wanted a democratic and federal Iraq. He said they did not want to split up Iraq but to re-unit it. Talabani said he found Turkey’s red lines regarding Iraqi issue as acceptable by all the Kurdish parties.
Talabani will meet with Foreign Minister Yasar Yakis and will be received by Prime Minister Abdullah Gul.
Iraqi Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP) leader Massoud Barzani is also expected to be in Ankara on Tuesday evening.
Barzani’s meeting with Gul is expected to take place on Wednesday morning.
