Sabanci’s Last Wish From Turkey

To Gul, who called him and said, “Get well soon” on Sunday April 4, Sakip Sabanci said as follows: “How nice things are you doing!” and he sent the letter written one day later on Monday April 5 and signed it, at the edge of his death.

The letter reads as follows: “My dear Minister, I appreciate the point arrived as a result of your success in your conscious defense and belief by determining well, the obstacles on the road of Turkey towards the EU and the priorities. I congratulate you on account of your successes achieved together with your team in both the adoption of the harmonization laws and in Cyprus negotiations.”

A state ceremony will be held today at Sabanci Center for Sakip Sabanci, who received State Superior Service Medal in 1997. He will later be buried in Zincirlikuyu.
