Powell Agrees: Kurdish Forces Must Leave Kirkuk

Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said in a statement that Powell had repeated on the telephone that U.S. guarantees were still valid and that the U.S. 173rd Airborne Division would soon enter Kirkuk. Powell also told Gul that Turkey could send observers from the Turkish Armed Forces into the region.
