Ozkaya: Constitution has to be renewed

Speaking at the start of the 2003-2004 judicial year ceremony, he said that two main principles of a democracy were laws protecting citizens’ rights and proper implementation of these laws, admitting that Turkey was lacking in both respects.

He said State Security Courts (DGM) should be eliminated for a proper judicial system and the constitution, which was at the root of many of the problems plaiging the society, had to be renewed.
