OIC Peace Force Necessary for Darfur

Gunduz told Zaman that peacekeepers under the aegis of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) would help resolve the conflict in Darfur. "Turkey’s leadership is important. What the OIC has to do now is send a peace force to Darfur."

The Turkish delegate will present his impression on the embattled region to the Turkish Prime Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Assembly.
