Removing Stains

Stained marble tiles leave you with two options: live with the stain or live with etched marble tiles where stain used to be. There are mane cleansers today that remove stains from your marble countertop but also damage the surface finish.

Removing rust stain is much more damaging to your marble tile countertops, as rust can only be removed by using specialized rust-removal products that only work by etching away polished surfaces.

But if the stain is too horrible to live with, you can send out and re-polished. You will receive your counter top back with a beautiful shine again, but it will also be slightly thinner.

Preparing your countertop

Before you start cleaning your marble tile with specialized products, first you have to use soft bristle brush to loosen the dirt on its surface, wiping away what comes off with your soft washcloth or sponge. Once the surface is free from any dirt, those specialized cleaning agents will have much more success.

Specialized cleaners

When cleaning and maintaining your marble tiles, you have to make sure that you are only using something that is specifically for marble stones. Most of the time these cleaning solutions are being left under their sink and for sure it will never leave stain behind. The best marble-friendly cleaning marble toilers are phosphate-free solutions or even liquid dishwashing soap. The best way to use any cleaning solution for your tiles is to rinse off the soap instantly with warm water to keep from drying out the marble.

Sealing marble

Once you are done cleaning the surface of your marble tile countertop, for sure you want it to seal it to keep it from oils and dirt from causing damage again. It would be better if you are going to use wax especially for white marble tiles, as wax causes the marble to yellow. The best option is to use stone sealer designed specifically for protecting the granite and helping it to resists the oils and dirt you just spent so much time and energy removing.
