Libyan premier, warlord make condolence visits to Abu Dhabi

TRIPOLI, Libya

Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh and Libyan warlord Khalifa Haftar paid condolences Saturday in Abu Dhabi for the death of former United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, according to media reports.

New Emirati President Mohamed bin Zayed held separate meetings with Dbeibeh and Haftar and accepted their condolences, Akhbar Libya 24 reported.

Dbeibeh and Haftar conveyed congratulations to bin Zayed and wished him success.

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed was elected last week as the new president of the UAE.

It came one day after bin Zayed, who served as UAE president since 2004, died May 13 at the age of 73.
