Iran’s export to Turkey up 30% in 10 months yr/yr

TEHRAN – The value of Iran’s exports to neighboring Turkey increased by 30 percent to reach $2.81 billion in the first 10 months of 2022, according to the figures recently released by the Turkish Statistical Institute.

Turkey had imported $2.16 billion worth of commodities from the Islamic Republic in the first 10 months of 2021, IRNA reported.

Based on the mentioned data, Iran’s imports from the country also marked an 11-percent rise to hit $2.49 billion during the January-October period, in comparison with the same time span in 2021.

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, the trade between the two countries has registered a 21-percent increase in the said 10 months compared to the same period in the previous year.

The value of trade between the two neighbors reached $5.3 billion in January-October 2022, while the figure stood at $4.39 billion in the previous year’s same time span.

Iran’s trade balance with Turkey has been $320 million positive in favor of Iran during the 10 months of this year.

Iran’s gas export to Turkey rises 70% in October

The latest data released by the European Union’s statistics office Eurostat also indicates that Iran’s natural gas export to Turkey increased by 70 percent in October compared to the last year’s same month.

The Islamic Republic exported 671 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas to its neighbor during the said month, while the figure was 395 mcm last October.

Turkey’s total natural gas imports in October 2022 amounted to 3,238 mcm, of which 21 percent was the share of Iranian gas.

Based on Eurostat data, Iran exported 7.751 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey during January-October 2022, indicating that the Islamic Republic’s gas export to Turkey has not changed significantly in this period compared to the same period last year.

Turkey had imported 7.785 billion cubic meters of gas from Iran in the first 10 months of the previous year.
