Hunger striker sews his lips and ears to protest UN
Hashim Hasparast and 2 other Iranian refugees had, earlier, threw themselves before a UN vehicle in accusaüion UNHCR of not attending to them.
Police chief Nihat Erol persuaded him to take medical care and last 2-day hunger strike, which he started in front of the office of lawyer Robjin Tugan– the law adviser of UN–.
The striker was discharged today from the hospital. The Reporter interviewed with the immigrant who has been living in Hakkari for a year.
Hakparast, expressing his reason to hold strike, claimed that UN officials had promised to help many times but they hadn’t kept their words.
“I do not want no more. So that I started hunger strike, toturing myself. I, standing before a mirror, sewn my own ears and lips. I also taped my hands and feet. If they don’t attend to us, I will commit suicide.”
