Gul: We are interested in Results, not Tactics

Making statements in the plane while returning from the U.S. visit, Minister Gul said they never demanded an active politician to be a mediator in the U.S. Gul stated they requested a strong personality, who could solve the situation when things are deadlocked. He added, ‘as you know State Secretary Colin Powell has been assigned.’ Asked whether Colin Powell had a role to defuse the situation in his meeting with Annan, Abdullah Gul said, ‘he will from now on.’
