Good news for Turkey’s tourism sector

Antalya Airport led the Turkish market in terms of arrival improval.

Antalya Airport Chief Osman Serdar, speaking to the Anatolia news agency, said that they were prepared for the increase. He noted that the center projected an increase of 7 percent for Istanbul Airport and an increase of 3 percent for the Izmir Airport for 2004.

Serdar said that as of December, 27,789 aircraft had landed at the Antalya Airport and 27,782 had departed, adding that with the expected increase of arrivals in 2004, these numbers would be increasing considerably.

Serdar said that the second runway at the Airport would be operational at the end of 2004 and that this would increase the airports capacity by 100 percent.
