FM Gul due to Dublin

ANKARA (AA) – Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul will go to the European Union (EU) Term President Ireland to attend Mid-Term Ministerial Meeting of Euro-Mediterranean Foreign Ministers on May 5.

Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday that the mid-term meeting of Euromed process, which started with the conference held in Barcelona in 1995, would be held in Dublin, Ireland between May 5 and 6.

This meeting is a forum which rarely includes countries such as Israel, Palestine and Syria. Gul will represent Turkey in the meeting.

Developments in Middle East peace process, other regional issues, EU’s strategical partnership proposal for Middle East region and Mediterranean and EU’s new policy on neighborhood will be taken up in the meeting.

Gul is expected to hold some bilateral meetings within Euromed.
