The Czech prime minister expressed support on Saturday for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban ahead of Sunday’s parliamentary election in Hungary.
“Supporting Orban Viktor this Sunday. He has always fought for a stronger Europe,” Andrej Babis said on US social media company X.
He described his support for what he called a vision of Europe “one built on peace, sovereign nations, sovereign member states, competitiveness.”
“He always protected Hungarian citizens and Hungarian national interests. In turbulent times, choosing stability and proven leadership matters more than ever,” he added.
Hungary is set to hold parliamentary elections on Sunday. A compilation of polling published by the Politico news website shows Orban’s Fidesz party trailing the opposition Tisza Party by 11 points.
