Cyprus on parliament’s agenda

ANKARA (AA) – Parliament General Assembly will today take up the Cyprus issue.

Foreign Minister and deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul is expected to inform the parliament over recent Cyprus developments. Besides, deputies, who would like to voice their own ideas will also address the parliament.
Other than Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will also brief his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) about his Switzerland negotiations and the 5th Annan plan.

RAUF DENKTAS TO MEET WITH SEZER AND ERDOGAN

In addition, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas has decided to go to Ankara to meet with President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Erdogan.

It’s not certain whether Denktas would attend the parliament general assembly.

Asked whether he is to make a speech at the Turkish parliament, Denktas said, “I have not received such an invitation.”
