Turkey-Holland sign economic co-operation agreement
The agreement, signed by Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül and Dutch Economic Affairs Minister Laurens Jan Brinkhorst, includes measures for developing economic co-operation and boosting Turkey’s market economy, sustainable development, projects among businessmen and program projects.
The memorandum of understanding would carry Turkish-Dutch bilateral economic relations to a new level, Gül said.
According to Gül, the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to more than $3.0 billion and the Netherlands was the biggest foreign investor country in Turkey.
Turkish and Dutch officials were holding regular meetings regarding the European Union as the Netherlands would take over term Presidency of the EU in the second half of this year, he said.
Turkey was in an important and strategic period in its EU process and significant progress was recorded in Turkey which was unimaginable five years ago, Brinkhorst said.
