Today, Ukraine’s women’s national team played their first match in the EURO 2025 qualifying play-offs.

Volodymyr Pyatenko’s team faced Turkiye at Esenler Stadium in Istanbul. Ukraine began the match proactively. In the 11th minute, Veronika Andrukhiv had a one-on-one chance but was denied by goalkeeper Selda Akgöz. However, in the 31st minute, Dariya Apanashchenko found the back of the net with a precise shot to the far post after a fumble from the Turkish keeper, giving Ukraine a 1:0 lead.

After halftime, Turkiye picked up the pace and managed to equalize. In the 61st minute, Elif Keskin scored with a low shot past Kateryna Samson following a far-post pass, bringing the score to 1:1.

The second leg of the first round of the EURO 2025 play-off will take place on October 29 at Zimbru Stadium in Chișinău.

Women’s EURO 2025 Qualifiers Play-Offs

First Round (October 23–29)

In one path, teams that finished third and fourth in League A will face the winners of the groups and the three best second-placed teams from League C. Eight winners will advance to the second round.

Montenegro vs. Finland

Georgia vs. Ireland

Slovenia vs. Austria

Luxembourg vs. Sweden

Belarus vs. Czechia

Albania vs. Norway

In the other path, group winners (excluding Switzerland) and the three best second-placed teams from League B will play against the worst second-placed team, four third-placed teams, and the best fourth-placed team in League B. Six winners will advance to the second round.

Second Round (November 27 – December 3)

In the second play-off round, 14 teams will compete directly for seven spots in the EURO 2025 final tournament, which will feature 16 teams in total.
