‘We Want an End to Iraq’s Occupation’

Parliamentary speakers from Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Turkey, as well as representatives from the United Nations, European Council Assembly of Parliamentarians, Arab Parliaments Union and the Inter-Parliamentary Union participated in a 2-day meeting in Amman, Jordan.

The declaration emphasized that the complex security situation in Iraq required immediate attention. "We are shamed by the humiliating, inhumane, and cruel treatments that some Iraqis have undergone at the hands of the occupation forces. We condemn the violations of both international law and the fundamental principles of humanity and demand those responsible be tried," read the declaration.
