"We still work on Turkish troop issue"
WASHINGTON (AA) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard Myers said yesterday that Turkish troop’s deploying in Iraq was still on the agenda.
Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz also stated that there were many question that had to be worked on.
Attending the Turkish Embassy in Washington’s reception due to 80th anniversary of Turkish Republic, Myers said that they didn’t change their opinion on Turkish troops.
Wolfowitz also stressed that the important point was Turkey’s generous offer on troops, but now neighbouring countries to Iraq and Iraq’s itself had some sensitivities.
