Washington: Weston due to in Cyprus
Delivering a speech on Cyprus in a conference held by a non-governmental organization called as "Western Policy Center", Weston said that he would fly to the island on Saturday.
Noting he is optimistic but the results of the referendum are still uncertain, the US envoy stressed that Cypriot people’s worries about cost of reunification should be removed by international community.
Weston added that US was ready to attend "Donater States Conference" by European Commission and be the initiator of supplying a financial aid for Cyprus.
Meanwhile EU Commission represnative Jonathan Davidson, speaking at the same conference, said, "we, as EU, prefer that Cyprus enters as a whole and the negotiations between Turkey and EU is kicked off. But, in case of a failure, the situation shouldn’t be dramatized.EU has learnt to live with disappointments. Nothing is the end of the world."
