Meanwhile, in Virginia, Governor Mark Warner declared October 29, ‘Turkey’s Independence Day’ and requested that all citizens celebrate the day. Warner said that he was proud of Turkish Americans choosing the state of Virginia as their home and their contributions to the state’s rich heritage.
