US welcomes Turkey bill on Sweden’s NATO bid

Washington: The United States on Monday welcomed Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s move to submit a bill approving Sweden’s NATO membership bid to parliament for ratification, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said.

“We look forward to that bill being considered in the Turkish parliament and passed as soon as possible,” Miller told reporters at a regular press briefing.
