"US should continue to cultivate a strong relationship with Turkey"
JINSA also recognized the importance of the Turkey-Israeli partnership, which it said "constitutes a bulwark against countries that sponsor and harbor terrorism and has been a source of stability and security in the region."
The group pledged to continue its own grassroots efforts to encourage strong U.S.-Israel-Turkey cooperation, which it said will be critical to the eradication of terrorist groups that threaten the security of all three nations.
The statements came as part of several resolutions unanimously adopted by JINSA’s Board of Directors at its annual meeting held June 8-9 in Washington.
Another JINSA resolution urged the governments of India, Israel and the United States to establish or further strengthen all forms of cooperation between the three countries in the worldwide struggle against terrorist groups, and called for India, as a democracy fighting its own battle with domestic terrorism, to formally recognize and publicly oppose the existential dangers facing Israel as a result of terrorism.
JINSA, which organized the first trilateral conference between American, Israeli and Indian national security experts in New Delhi earlier this year, also endorsed the growing military cooperation between India and the U.S., and called for increased American business investment in India to solidify economic ties.
JINSA also announced it is planning a second trilateral U.S.-Israel-India conference on the importance of cooperation in the fight against terrorism, tentatively scheduled for early 2004.
