US Requests Turkey Convince Syria to Pullout
The Commission of Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) members consisting of 8 parliamentarians attended meetings in the US capital, Washington. The delegation, which included five members of the ruling party Justice and Enlightenment (AKP) Party and three from the Republican Socialist Party (CHP), met with the US Deputy Secretary of Defense, Paul Wolfowitz. According to the information provided regarding the meetings, Turkish and American relations, that had recently been criticized, were at the top of the agenda. Wolfowitz remarked that the trouble that existed between the two countries following theDeployment Motion dated March 10, 2003, has now history and sent the message: "Let’s look to the future."
