US Ignores North Korea

While the North Korean administration announced that they would not attend the six party talks to be held to control its nuclear activities the other day (February 10), they demanded to hold two-party talks directly with the US yesterday in a slight change of policy; however, the US has rejected their demand.

The Pyonyang administration emphasized that Washington should communicate with them directly and determined that they would accept this initiative as a sign of change in hostile US policy. Spokesperson for the White House Scott McClellan said North Korea will have many chances to make direct contacts with the US during the six-party talks and insisted on the multi-national negotiations.
