US Harmed by Media Perceptions of Iraq

Brooks said 350 mosques were protected in the region, but this went unmentioned by the media. Brooks said he followed the Arab media daily and that it is wrong to stereotype all US soldiers as sharing the same thoughts. A delegation from the International Red Cross committee, meanwhile, went to Fallujah on Tuesday for the first time since the US operation began. A spokesman for the Red Cross, Florian Westphal, said, "The Red Cross delegation consisted of seven people who visited Fallujah for several hours." Westphal went on to say that the delegation met with officials from the water and sewage system and visited a medical center in a mosque. Red Crescent set up an aid center in the city after US forces started attacking Fallujah on November 8th had left the country at the order of US soldiers on the following Sunday. There were reportedly 150 families in the city.
