US central bank: Trump tariffs causing ‘great deal of uncertainty’
US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said that Donald Trump’s tariffs are creating “a great deal of uncertainty” and could put the Fed’s goals for low inflation and strong employment at odds. The central bank said it will hold rates steady for now.
