Unemployment Rate of Turks Abroad Increases

According to information from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, more Turks live in Germany than any other foreign country with the population of 2,053,600. The recent economic crisis there has pushed the general unemployment rate up to 9.6 percent Working-age Turks in Germany, however, have a 25 percent unemployment rate: two-and-a-half times the national average.
