Turkiye’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate 8.5% in Dec 2024
The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was an estimated 8.5 per cent—a drop of 0.1 percentage point (pp) MoM; it was an estimated 6.9 per cent for men and 11.4 per cent for women in the month.
The number of employed decreased by 54,000 MoM to 32.718 million in the month. The seasonally-adjusted employment rate was 49.5 per cent—a decrease of 0.1 pp MoM; it was 66.9 per cent for men and 32.4 per cent for women.
The number of unemployed aged 15 and above in Turkiye fell by 39,000 month on month (MoM) to 3.26 million in December 2024, Turkstat said.
The seasonally-adjusted unemployment and employment rates were an estimated 8.5 per cent and 49.5 per cent respectively—decreases of 0.1 pp MoM in both cases.
The labour force participation rate was 54.1 per cent—a decrease of 0.1 pp MoM.
The number of persons in the labour force was 35.743 million in the month—a drop of 94,000 MoM. The labour force participation rate was 54.1 per cent—a decreased of 0.1 pp MoM; it was 71.9 per cent for men and 36.6 per cent for women, a Turkstat release said.
The seasonally-adjusted youth unemployment rate in the 15-24 age group was 16.3 per cent in the month—an increase of 0.5 pp MoM; it was 13.1 per cent for men and 22.1 per cent for women.
