Turkiye’s employment index up 3.4% YoY, 0.9% QoQ in Q1 2024: Turkstat


Turkiye’s employment index, which includes industry, construction and trade-services sectors, increased by 3.4 per cent year on year (YoY) and by 0.9 per cent quarter on quarter (QoQ) in the first quarter (Q1) this year. The index for the industrial sector increased by 0.1 per cent YoY and decreased by 0.1 per cent QoQ.

Overall hours worked index increased by 1.5 per cent YoY and decreased by 1.2 per cent QoQ in Q1 2024; the index for the industrial sector decreased by 1.1 per cent YoY and decreased by 2.3 per cent QoQ.

Turkiye’s employment index, including industry, construction and trade-services sectors, rose by 3.4 per cent YoY and by 0.9 per cent quarter on quarter (QoQ) in Q1 2024.
The index for the industrial sector rose by 0.1 per cent YoY and fell by 0.1 per cent QoQ.
Overall hours worked index rose by 1.5 per cent YoY and fell by 1.2 per cent QoQ in the quarter.

Overall gross wages-salaries index increased by 116.5 per cent YoY and by 29.9 per cent QoQ in the quarter; the index for the industrial sector increased by 115.9 per cent YoY and by 28.7 per cent QoQ, according to a Turkstat release.

Overall hourly labour cost index increased by 98.3 per cent YoY and 32.5 per cent QoQ in Q1 2024; the index for the industrial sector increased by 94.2 per cent YoY and 33 per cent QoQ.
