Türkiye's daily power consumption up 14.5% on April 21
– Electricity exports amount to 5,200 megawatt-hours and imports total 10,171 megawatt-hours
Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 14.5% on Monday, compared to the previous day, totaling 773,406 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,638 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,105 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 880,398 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 14.1% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 18.1 of total generation, while hydroelectricity and natural gas plants contributed 16.1% and 15.1%, respectively.
On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,200 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 10,171 megawatt-hours.
