Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 1.7% on Oct. 1
– Electricity exports amount to 9,116 megawatt-hours and imports total 5,165 megawatt-hours
Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 1.7% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 908,826 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,402 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,902 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT)
Electricity production amounted to 912,786 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of 1.6% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 26.3% of total generation, while natural gas and hydropower plants contributed 16.6% and 15.6%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 9,116 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 5,165 megawatt-hours.
