Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.45% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 879,229 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 41,655 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT) and the country’s electricity consumption fell to 29,736 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 865,622 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a drop of 1.50% compared to Thursday.

Imported coal plants contributed 27.6% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite power plants supplied 21.2% and 14.1%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,837 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 20,443 megawatt-hours.
