Türkiye’s communications chief urges immediate action to end Israeli attacks on Gaza
ANKARA
Türkiye’s communications chief on Friday called for immediate action to end Israel’s ongoing attacks on Gaza, marking the “350th day of this genocide.”
In a statement shared on X, Fahrettin Altun said: “Today marks the 350th day of this genocide. Remaining silent about this genocide makes us complicit in this tragedy.”
“For the sake of justice, for the conscience of humanity, and for our future, we must raise our voices and act immediately to stop this massacre,” he added.
He highlighted the devastating toll on civilians, particularly children and journalists, while criticizing Israel’s disregard for international law.
“Cities are being bombed, mosques, hospitals, and schools are being destroyed. Innocent civilians, journalists, children, and even babies are being targeted in a conscious and systematic manner. Israel, disregarding international law, is pursuing a policy of pressure and violence against legitimate sources of information. Journalists trying to inform the world about the truth of what is happening in the region are being killed,” he added.
According to figures shared in his video post, the conflict has resulted in over 41,000 Palestinian casualties, including more than 16,000 children and 11,000 women. The video also stated that at least 95,000 Palestinians have been injured since the conflict began on Oct. 7.
The video also draws attention to the fact that Israel has killed more than 11,000 children under the age of 18 and at least 700 babies under the age of one in Gaza.
