Highlights

  • Forces of Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham HTS entered Afrin on Thursday, 13 October 2022, to support parties from conflicting military factions, which are part of the Syrian National Army alliance in Aleppo Governorate countryside.

  • Due to the ongoing clashes in Afrin district, several partners reported partial or complete suspension of health service delivery in Afrin city and the countryside. A total of ten health facilities reported partial or closure of health services, departments, or services. Access and movement of people and medical workers within Afrin city is limited due to security issues and security check points.

  • Since declaring the Cholera outbreak, the number of cases in Syria is continuously increasing.

  • UNOCHA released the humanitarian response monthly update report.

  • The shelter/NFI cluster Whole of Syria WoS released a Winterization advocacy note about the need for urgent winter assistance for more than 5.8 M people in Syria.

  • United Nations Human Rights – Office of the High Commissioner released a statement by Mr. Paulo Sérgio Pinheiro, chair of the Independent Internation Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic.

  • 640 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in October 2022.

  • By the end of October 2022, A total of 100 vaccination teams supported by WHO (60 mobile & 40 fixed) will continue working at full capacity.

  • As of 31 October 2022, a total of 5,388 suspected cholera cases have been reported from NWS, with 1,665 (30.9%) suspected cases reported from camps.

  • The top reported morbidities in October were:

• Other Acute Diarrhea OAD.

• Influenza-Like Illness ILI.

• Suspected Typhoid Fever STF
