Highlights

– Suspension of hospital’s operations in Darkosh due to cease of support: On 30 April, reportedly, the Director of Al Rahma Hospital in Darkosh in Idleb announced that the hospital’s work in all departments have stopped due to the cease of support. The hospital served 700,000 people in the area, providing free medical services to an estimate of 20,000 patients per month. With the suspension of financial support, staff are working on a voluntary basis for emergency cases only.

– WHO conducted a ToT on “Mass Casualty Management / Planning (MCM/MCP) training of trainers (ToT)” in Gaziantep on the 19th of April. This ToT will be followed by a series of decentralized MCM/MCP trainings directly inside NWS with the support of different health partners.

– Six trucks carrying aid crossed the border: On 24 April, six WHO trucks carrying essential medicines, medical consumables and health emergency kits targeting nearly 90,000 people crossed through the Bab Al-Hawa border crossing. – In April 2024, SAMS organized a multispecialty medical mission, collaborating with Islamic Relief, SEMA, and Alrazi Hospital.
